Point Richmond Music (PRM) is officially calling on local and regional musicians to help celebrate a major milestone. The all-volunteer nonprofit has begun reviewing applications for its 25th Summer Concert Series, scheduled for the summer of 2026.
Since its founding in 2001, PRM has become a cornerstone of Richmond’s cultural scene, transforming downtown Point Richmond into a vibrant street party on the second Friday of each month from June through September.
In keeping with its core mission to support creative artistry, PRM has a strict policy: only bands that play original music will be considered. “We specifically support original music,” the organization stated in its announcement. “If you are primarily a cover band, we will not consider you for our concert series.”
To fit the series’ high-energy “street party” vibe, PRM is seeking professional Bay Area or Northern California artists who perform danceable, up-tempo original music across genres like rock, pop, soul, zydeco, and reggae. The series prioritizes live instrumentation over electronic accompaniment and generally favors groups of three to six players who can appeal to a diverse, multi-generational audience
Bands interested in performing during this landmark season must submit their applications by Feb. 28. Selected artists will be notified by early April.
The application requires a short bio, genre classification, and direct links to two live videos (YouTube or Vimeo). PRM explicitly warns that sending a general website homepage link instead of a direct video URL will result in disqualification.
The 2026 concerts are scheduled for the following Friday evenings:
- June 12
- July 10
- August 14
- September 11
Each event features two 50-minute performances, alongside local food trucks and a volunteer-run bar whose proceeds support the free series.
