No Kings rallies are scheduled in El Cerrito, El Sobrante, Hercules and San Pablo on Saturday, Oct. 18. They are part of a nationwide mobilization against Trump administration policies, and are organized by local groups.Â
In El Cerrito, a demonstration is organized from noon to 2 p.m. at Cutting Boulevard and San Pablo Avenue, along the sidewalk near the El Cerrito Del Norte BART station.
In El Sobrante, a rally is scheduled from 1-3 p.m. at San Pablo Dam Road and Appian Way.
In Hercules, a rally is set for the corners of San Pablo and Sycamore avenues from 11-12:30 p.m.
In San Pablo, folks will gather at the Grocery Outlet sidewalk (2079 23rd St.) from 11 a.m. till noon.
The No Kings effort frames itself as a grassroots movement opposing the concentration of power. Similar rallied were held in June.
“The president thinks his rule is absolute,” organizers said. “But in America, we don’t have kings, and we won’t back down against chaos, corruption, and cruelty.”
