The City of Pinole plans to turn its COVID-era outdoor dining rules into a permanent ordinance for parklets and outdoor seating. A public meeting will be held Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 6:30–8:30 p.m., at City Hall (2131 Pear St.) and via Zoom to gather your ideas and feedback.

The proposed policy aims to help local restaurants grow, invite more people downtown, and create lively public spaces. The draft ordinance may include rules to ensure safety, preserve pedestrian access, and comply with ADA standards. Businesses may need permits or reviews to expand seating into public areas beyond their property.

City officials say a clear, long-term policy will give restaurants confidence to invest in better outdoor infrastructure, rather than rely on temporary or makeshift setups.
