A 55-year-old man was stabbed in the 10300 block of San Pablo Avenue on Thursday morning, and a suspect has been arrested, according to the El Cerrito Police Department.

Police responded to the scene at about 11:24 a.m. and found the victim suffering from a stab wound to the abdomen. He was transported to John Muir in Walnut Creek where he is in stable condition and is expected to fully recover, police said.

Circulating patrol units located a suspect, 41-year-old Devin Gonzales, and arrested him. Gonzales, who is homeless, was positively identified as the suspect during an in-field show up and was booked into jail.
