A commercial vehicle checkpoint will take place Wednesday morning in the area of Goodrick Avenue and Parr Boulevard, according to police.
The checkpoint will run from 7 a.m. to 11 a.m. in order to “ensure the safe operation and compliance of heavy vehicles with the California Vehicle Code and to remove dangerous and unsafe vehicles from the roadway,” according to the San Pablo Police Department.
The operation, done in partnership with the California Highway Patrol and Richmond Police Department, is one of several checkpoints that will be conducted in the coming months.
“According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), checkpoints have the most effective results of any enforcement strategy, while still yielding considerable cost savings for the public,” police said.
