We wanted to provide an update regarding the flaring that occurred this past Tuesday, April 21 at the Richmond Refinery.
Earlier today, we submitted a follow up report to the Contra Costa County Health Services Department which provides additional information about the incident and our response. This report includes a summary of data collected from air monitoring stations during and after the incident. The data shows that there was no health impact to the community.
The Richmond Refinery works hard to operate in a safe and environmentally responsible manner. It is our goal to have zero impact on our neighbors which is why we are constantly investing in new equipment and technologies that reduce the impact of our operations on the surrounding community.
