Richmond Tennis Association teams net impressive win streak

All teams representing the Ricihmond Tennis Association (RTA) won their respective matches last week.

“All in all, a fantastic week and a tribute to our RTA captains/players and a prideful moment to Richmond,” stated Garry and Mary Hurlbut on behalf of the RTA board.

The results follow:

• 8.5 Men’s team won 2-1 over San Pablo Park to guarantee their playoff position.
• 8.5 Women’s team won 2-1 over arch-rival Mills College to move into first place.
• 7.5-A Men’s team swept Chabot Canyon 3-0 to guarantee their playoff position.
• 7.5-B Men’s team swept Oakland Hills 3-0 to move up in the standings.
• 6.5 Men’s team swept Laney/Davie 3-0 to solidify their first place standing.
• 6.5 Women’s team swept Claremont 3.0 to move into  playoff position.  
• 6.0 Men’s 70+ teams won 2 matches beating arch-rival Walnut Creek teams. Beating first place Walnut Creek-B team, 2-1 Beating Walnut Creek-A Salty Dawgs team, 2-1 to close out the season.
