STEAM the Streets and CoBiz to host youth opportunity event
CoBiz Richmond

On Wednesday, October 30 (5–8 PM), STEAM the Streets and CoBiz Richmond will host Amplifying Opportunities, a free event aimed at fostering pathways for youth through education, mentorship and creative collaboration.

The event will bring together community leaders, educators, workforce innovators and youth advocates at CoBiz Richmond (1503 Macdonald Ave). There, they will reimagine pathways for education, career development and mentorship via keynote speakers, live music, video storytelling and networking sessions, according to organizers.

Among the confirmed speakers are Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia, Albany Mayor Robín D. Lopez, Kaila Love (The AI Homegirl), and Gina Del Carlo (CEO, Earn & Learn).

“Supporting our youth means more than offering guidance — it means fighting with love for their future,” said Contra Costa County Supervisor John Gioia.

The event’s location is part of the solution. CoBiz is an innovation and entrepreneurship hub in Richmond that provides the technology and resources needed for equitable access to opportunity for local entrepreneurs and businesses.

“In these times, our youth cannot afford to be uninformed about emerging career paths that will allow them to sustain their families and stay out of debt,” said Wesley Alexander, CEO of CoBiz Richmond.

Added Ben Gilbarg, executive director of STEAM the Street, “Now more than ever, it’s critical that we equip young people with the tools and vision to thrive.”
