The Richmond Steelers youth football team is hosting its “Annual Steelers Day BBQ” Sunday, May 4 from 12-5 p.m. at State Court Park in Richmond.
The day will be all about “food, fun, fellowship and family,” said team organizers, who added that games will also be part of the event mix. Richmond residents are welcome.
“Registration will be available on site for interested players,” said team Board Member Katrice West. “This allows families to take advantage of the early bird special.”
Youth between the ages of 5-14 years old can sign up to participate on one of several Richmond Steelers teams sectioned by age group. Families can take advantage of the steep discounts available during the early bird special at the BBQ and valid through May 31 (payment must be made by then). After that, the regular registration period kicks in from June 1 through July 31. The first day of practice is July 8.
This year the team will participate in the American Youth Football league. Sign-ups for the Steelers cheer team can be explored online.
