Get ready to set your smartphones for House of Loving Hands’ “Come-Unity BBQ” Saturday, July 26 from noon to 2 p.m. in Richmond, where food, fun and back-to-school supplies will be at the ready.
During an event that’s free to the public, the Richmond nonprofit—which provides transitional housing and resources for victims of domestic violence—will be helping the littles get ready for the new school year.
A stand-out offering of the day will be 300 BBQ lunches served up by famed purveyor Everett & Jones on a first-come, first-served basis.
Also on hand that day will be back-to-school supplies, backpacks, haircuts, shoes, 200 new coats and other resources, as well as a mini-carnival, face painting, popcorn, cotton candy and an overall day of fun.
Organizations wanting to display their resources, promo items, brochures and flyers at the event can contact House of Loving Hands’ Founder Deneshia Clemons at (510) 730-1162 to sign up.
A bevy of generous sponsors are helping make the day a reality, including Deliverance Tabernacle, Ruby’s Place, Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Soles4Souls, Ballin’ Since Birth (BSB), DJ Kritical, Barber CJ, Bayer and Nordstrom.
The Come-Unity BBQ can be found at 260 Broadway in Richmond (behind the Bay Area Girls Club). Learn more about House of Loving Hands or contact the nonprofit at [email protected].
