Richmond will be the starting point for the “Big Daddy Regatta” Saturday and Sunday, March 8-9, with Fleet Racing on the first day and Pursuit Racing on the second.
Hosted by the Richmond Yacht Club, the races welcome “all mono-hulled keel boats with a Northern California PHRF rating of 280 and below.” Organizers said that fleets over five boats may be given one design starts on Saturday. Register for both days of racing separately.
The Fleet Race will start making waves Saturday, March 8 at 8 a.m. with complimentary coffee and pastries; a crew sandwich bar at 8:15 a.m.; and the beginning of the race at 11:30 a.m. Later that day, there will be free beer and snacks at 4 p.m.; an awards ceremony and dinner starting at 5:30 p.m. and a party with music by Shark Sandwich at 7:30 p.m. One dinner is included with registration. As for Sunday’s Pursuit Race schedule, there’s a 9 a.m. breakfast; the race begins at 12 p.m.; beer and snacks at 4 p.m.; and the awards ceremony at 5 p.m. The entry fee for Sunday is $2.00 per ft. Learn more and register here.
