Robbie Deloris Hurtado is remembered for her legacy of service and dedication to her community in Richmond/West Contra Costa County.

For 21 years, Ms. Robbie was a City of Richmond employee working on workforce development and employment. Known as the “queen of networking,” as her previous boss noted, she used this gift to connect people, resources and opportunities throughout the community.

She kept her eyes and ears in the community and was able to integrate all she learned with her heart and soul to serve in a deeply authentic way, even in the most challenging times. Her network wasn’t merely extensive; it was a lifeline for countless individuals seeking support and guidance, even after retiring in 2021.  She was more than just a stellar employee; she was a friend, a mentor, and a guiding light to all who had the privilege of knowing her.  Ms. Robbie went above and beyond in everything she did, offering words of wisdom and encouragement to everyone she touched and her commitment to her work and to the people she served didn’t end—she continued to provide employment services, embodying a dedication that transcended titles and time.

Ms. Robbie was a proud member of LifeLong Medical Care’s Board of Directors since 2012, which offered a transfer of her solid commitment when she was nominated to the board as part of the merger with Brookside Community Health.  She’d served on Brookside’s Board of Directors for over 10 years and was especially proud of LifeLong’s developments and role in the rising of the Jenkins Health Center in Richmond.

Medical challenges forced her to retire from the City of Richmond’s Employment and Training Department in 2021, however she maintained a commitment to her work, embodying a dedication that transcended title and time.  Her presence enriched the lives of those she touched.

The pride Ms. Robbie felt working with everyone to serve the community and strengthen our place in it knew no bounds. She leaves behind an irreplaceable legacy—a legacy built on kindness, selflessness, and an unbreakable commitment to helping others succeed.

Ms. Robbie’s life will be memorialized and celebrated by her loving family and community on Saturday, Dec. 7, at 11 a.m. at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church, 831 South 43rd St., Richmond.  Donations in her honor are appreciated through the QR Code above.
