By Kathy Chouteau

The East Bay Center for the Performing Arts will offer two free performances of “A Richmond Nutcracker” during the annual “Downtown Holiday Festival” Dec. 13 from 4 to 7:30 p.m. Word on the street is the one and only Santa Claus will also make a special appearance during that timeframe.

Two showings of the Nutcracker will take place in the center’s Iron Triangle Theatre at 5 p.m. and 6 p.m. Tickets will not be on sale as the free performances will be offered on a first come, first served basis.

Also on hand at the center that day? None other than jolly old Santa Claus, who will welcome the littles for complementary photos and goodie bags in the center’s Community Theater.

Richmond Main Street Initiative (RMSI) and the City of Richmond are joining the center in spreading holiday cheer by co-sponsoring the seasonal event.
