When Richmond Main Street Initiative’s (RSMI) Spirit & Soul Festival returns Sat., Oct. 14, the organization will be teaming up with Richmond SOL soccer club to host the event that will include an epic Car Show and Art Battle in downtown Richmond, per a Facebook post by Diego Garcia. The Car Show is sponsored by Leftside Printing.
The action will take place during the festival that runs from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. around 12th to 16th Streets and Macdonald Ave.
The Car Show will get going at 8 a.m. that day; the registration fee for it is $25 and includes one space and the cruise. Register for the car show here. For more info, call Leftside Printing at 510-965-9697.
As for the free-to-enter the Live Art Show/Contest during the festival, artist registration is at 9 a.m. and organizers accept artistic mediums including acrylic, paint, pen, charcoal, etc. and a maximum of 20 artists. One 18 x 20 blank canvas will be provided by the organizers, who instruct artists to supply their own art materials. The competition will end at 2 p.m. that day and there will be cash prizes for 1st place, 2nd place and 3rd place. To register to participate, click here.
Organizers tout the Spirit & Soul Festival—which is currently celebrating its 15th year—as an annual event that offers goods, services, information and a sense of community togetherness for all attendees.
