Stacey Street, well known in the Richmond community as the chief operations officer of RCF Connects, is leaving the organization after a decade of service, according to a communication from the organization.
The next chapter of Street’s career includes co-founding One of Us Global Foundation, which honors and carries on the legacy of her stepson, Alex, a YouTuber and internet personality who passed away from Sarcoma last year. Alex was known as a kind and generous person who used his platform to raise funding for Sarcoma research.
“I look forward to using all that I have learned at RCF as I continue my journey in transformational philanthropy,” Street told RCF Connects. She added that the new foundation will “focus on health, wellbeing and empowerment of youth and young adults nationally, and potentially globally, to help bring forward their creativity and innovative ideas so that all people, and our planet, can thrive.”
Street joined RCF Connects in 2014 in the role of chief development officer, and rose up the ranks quickly to become chief operations officer in 2017. RCF Connects said Street collaborated with staff to develop and implement “innovative and equitable programs, projects and systems internally and externally” and was successful “convening, guiding and advising funders in understanding and supporting transformational philanthropy.”
The organization pinpointed her most important work there as “leading the development of RCF Connects’ current strategic plan, which used tools and practices from Radical Transformational Leadership.”
RCF Connects, formerly known as the Richmond Community Foundation, states its mission as helping build “healthy, thriving communities that are safe and diverse, and where families flourish and children are given new hope for a bright and abundant future.”
For her part, Street told RCF Connects that she believes her transition presents an opportunity for it to make leadership changes outlined in its strategic planning process. “We did such excellent work together and I know that with all of you and the clarity of vision and goals we’ve committed to within our strategic plan, RCF can accomplish its goals.”
