The Ed Fund, which funds programs for West Contra Costa Unified School District (WCCUSD) students so that they thrive in higher learning environments, is celebrating its 40th anniversary Thurs., May 25.

The special event, set from 6-9 p.m. at CoBiz Richmond, “will celebrate our work and those leaders who have helped continue moving our agenda forward,” according to the Ed Fund’s Executive Director Robert Bunce in a correspondence.

Honorees that evening will include: Full Service Community Schools Support Collaborative; WCCUSD; and the Irene S. Scully Family Foundation.

Bunce said that the event will also “reflect upon the successes” of the Ed Fund to provide grants to WCCUSD classrooms; recognize 190 teachers with Teaching Excellence Awards; give $1.6 million to more than 560 scholars since 2006; raise more than $4 million for our schools/community throughout four years, including special pandemic funds; and increase capacity to WCCUSD classrooms through $1.8 million in programming.

He added that the generous support of event attendees “will help strengthen our foundation for the decades and generations to come.”

Tickets are $140 for general admission and free for awardees. Sponsorships start at $500. To purchase tickets or for more event information, click here.
