Community feedback sought on 23rd Street Bridge project

By Kathy Chouteau

The collective dream to connect the eastern and western sides of the Richmond Greenway at 23rd Street is coming to fruition thanks to an Environmental Justice grant the City and its partners received from Caltrans to plan, design and develop a concept for a bridge there, per the 23rd Street Bridge Partners.

To this end, the partners are hosting the “Greenway Gap Community Planning and Design Meeting Event” April 12, 13 and 14 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m. at Harbour-8 Park, 909 Ohio Ave. (between Harbour Way & 8th St.) in Richmond.

“Drop by any time to hop on a bike and tour the site, meet with project partners, review possible bridge designs and let your voice be heard,” said event organizers. Community members are encouraged by organizers to come out and provide input, ask questions, speak to City staff and 23rd Street design team partners, get involved and let their voice be heard.

Those who are unable to join the three-day event can provide feedback on the project by calling Pogo Park at 510-215-5500, emailing [email protected] or by taking this short survey. Learn more about the project here.
