Gardeners’ Guild, Inc. (GGI), a Richmond-based landscape contract company that is 100 percent employee-owned, is looking to hire an accounting assistant and also entry level and experienced gardeners.
The company seeks an accounting assistant with one-to-three years of accounts payable experience in a fast-paced environment. Key job responsibilities include cultivating vendor relationships, processing invoices, doing check runs, reconciling accounts against vendor statements, producing annual 1099 reporting, performing daily data entry of timecards, attendance forms and material use sheets, and completing a variety of clerical duties. The pay range for this non-exempt position is $19 to $23 per hour depending on experience.
Entry level and experienced gardeners are also needed to perform routine landscape maintenance duties with a high level of quality and care, said the company. Desirable candidates will have horticultural experience, the ability to maintain and fix irrigation systems, excellent customer service and communication skills, the know-how to safely use/maintain various landscape equipment, and to work independently. Bilingual Spanish speakers are preferred. The starting salary for the exempt hourly position is $15.55, depending on experience.
