The Richmond event that has been in billed as a “free picnic extravaganza” again lived up to the description Saturday.
Live performances, family-friendly activities, a free barbecue and a local nonprofit fair all starred at the 28th Annual North & East Neighborhood Potluck & Picnic at Burg Park.
Families enjoyed delicious food and performances by the Emeryville Taiko Drummers, Secret Identities, Son de la Tierra, and the Berkeley High Jazz Band Ensemble.
The kid’s section featured a bouncy house, games such as ring toss games, face painting and a huge art and crafts table.
The annual picnic was sponsored by Chevron, City of Richmond, MCE, Saarman Construction Ltd., Marvin Gardens & Red Oak Realty, Kaiser Permanente , Mechanics Bank and the North & East Neighborhood Council.
