Got plans for the Winter Solstice? How about a community song circle and mushroom walk?

Eileen Hazel of Eileen Hazel Music out of Berkeley is organizing “Sing for the Solstice,” a gathering on Sun., Dec. 17 from 2-4 p.m. at Point Pinole Reginal Shoreline. It will include group singing, mushroom discovery and community togetherness just before the Winter Solstice (Dec. 21).

Hazel said that singing experience isn’t required for the gathering, which will feature a short and easy walk to a fairy grove of Amanita Muscaria mushrooms (think Alice in Wonderland). While there, she’ll teach participants songs to sing together.

“You will find yourself singing and making new friends, and holding your own heart as you connect with the humans and mycelium around you,” said Hazel.

According to Hazel, singing together in community is a joyful way to create more hope, love and togetherness in the world. She welcomed the community to come sing together, celebrate mushroom season and the Winter Solstice.

The gathering is $5 to attend. RSVP and learn more about the Sing for the Solstice event here. Once people register for the event, an exact location of it will be sent. Point Pinole Regional Shoreline is located at 5551 Giant Hwy. in Richmond.
