The Richmond Arts Center’s (RAC) 59th Annual Holiday Arts Festival is offering the chance to “get creative, give creative,” this holiday season with opportunities to purchase unique holiday gifts, or make your own.
The festival’s online and in-person activities are running now through the end of December and include an Arts & Crafts Hub, Ceramics Sale and free Gift-Making Workshop Series that provide an array of festive options for gift-giving this holiday season.
Bay Area artists and makers are sharing their creations via the Arts & Crafts Hub, the RAC’s online retail space for holiday arts and crafts shopping through December 31. Click here to explore creative works by artists including Fumiyo Yoshikawa, Erin McCluskey Wheeler, Lauren Ari and many more. Local artists wishing to register a listing in the hub can still do so this week here.
An in-person Ceramics Sale is open for its last showing at the RAC this Thurs., Nov. 18 and Sat. Nov. 20 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The sale will be set up in the center’s art galleries and will feature “beautiful and usable ceramics such as plates, cups [and] bowls made by our students, teachers and friends,” said RAC organizers. All sales benefit the RAC; click here for a preview.
Those wanting to get crafty with their gifts can consider joining the RAC’s free, online and in-person Gift-Making Workshop Series this holiday season. The remaining online workshop is Mini Embroidery for adults with teaching artist Julia Beery Sat., Nov. 20 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. In-person workshops at the RAC include: Two in One Accordion Images for ages 12-plus with teaching artist Patricia Liverman Sat., Dec. 4 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.; and Treasure Box—Framed Collage and Assemblage for ages 5-plus with teaching artist Madi Hunt Sat., Dec. 11 from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
