Kelcey Young, the city manager of Sweet Home, Ore., will become the city manager of Pinole starting Aug. 26, 2024.
Young is credited with swiftly addressing a $10 million deficit at Sweet Home, which has a population of around 10,000 citizens. She’s also credited with leveraging community partnerships to develop the “Let’s Paint the Town” program that gave the town a renewed sense of pride.
When seeking new opportunities, Pinole was Young’s first choice, according to city officials.
“Pinole is an amazing city that is set to continue to be a very influential and incredible city to live and reside for years to come,” Young said. “I am a dedicated public servant, and team player and it is an honor to serve the Pinole community in this capacity.”
Pinole leadership expressed confidence that Young will “provide a fresh perspective and collaborative leadership” to guide the city through financial challenges, along with the development of the 2026-2031 Strategic Plan.
“I look forward to working with Kelcey to address our community’s needs and build a brighter future. She is a great fit for Pinole and will play a vital role ensuring the continued success of our vibrant City,” stated Mayor Maureen Toms.
Young has a Bachelor’s Degree in Environmental Studies and Leadership from Humboldt State University and Lean Six Sigma Black Belt.
