The Baltic Kiss, a live music and dining venue in Point Richmond that struggled with unpaid rent and allegations of unpaid employees, announced it is now permanently closed.

The owners posted this statement regarding the closure on the Baltic Kiss website:

“We are very sorry to announce that Baltic Kiss is now permanently closed, effective immediately. Chef Tony, Miss Suzie and staff would like to extend a heartfelt thank you for an incredible 2 1/2 years. Your support has meant the world to us, But now it is time to say goodbye. I sincerely apologize for this situation. We did everything we could to keep Baltic Kiss open. Thank you for your continued support of live music! Tony, Suzie, Jacque, Marco”

As we reported in January, Owners Chef Tony Carracci and Miss Suzie had launched a GoFundMe campaign to raise $100,000 after falling nearly $30,000 behind on rent and grappling with rising operational costs. Chef Carracci cited struggles due to rising costs of food, liquor, their lease and insurance. As of today, the fundraiser raised just under $12,000, and it was unclear whether the funds were going to be returned to donors.

Opening in August 2022, Baltic Kiss was a popular fixture in the community, but it invited a legal filing from its landlord over the unpaid rent. Also, employees allege they went months without pay and remain unpaid by the owners. An Instagram account launched by an employee details some of the allegations that include accusing the chef of mismanaging the business.

Chef Carracci and Miss Suzie are the former operators of Black Star Pirate BBQ at Point San Pablo Harbor, which was also popular but required to leave after the Habor opted not to renew its lease.
