When the munchies strike at 7 Stars Holistic Healing Center, staffers don’t just settle for any old snack. They’ve got a whole menu of Richmond faves dialed up, and they’re ready to share their go-to spots. In the Standard’s latest “Rich Dish” feature, we’re giving the inside scoop on where these cannabis connoisseurs chow down when hunger calls.

Gold Pie Pop-Up: Munchie Mondays

Every Monday, staffer Scott Hataye pops-up at the cannabis dispensary with Goldpie Pizza, serving 12-inch pizzas from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. “He makes amazing pies,” says 7 Stars Co-Founder Zee Handoush, who helped get the pop-up rolling. The style? Hataye says his pizzas are a crispy, thin hybrid of tavern, Neapolitan and New York. “If you come in…within five to ten minutes, your pizza is ready on your way out,” added Handoush. Monday munchies, solved.

Daimo Chinese Restaurant: Salt & Pepper Crab

Joe Dayem, co-founder of 7 Stars, reminisces about Snappers Seafood, but these days, Daimo Chinese Restaurant is his spot for seafood. The Asian eatery is located in the Pacific East Mall’s parking lot across from his business. “Enjoy the salt & pepper crab,” Dayem recommended. He also suggested keeping an eye out for the upcoming Korean BBQ & Hot Pot spot coming soon across the street.

La Flor de Jalisco: Taco Truck Royalty

Ruby Ramirez is loyal to La Flor de Jalisco, a taco truck on 710 23rd Street in Richmond. “You [can] tell, it’s family owned…The recipes are very authentic compared to other places I’ve tried,” Ramirez shared. Plus, she’s a lifelong local, so you know it’s legit.

When the craving is for Chinese, Ramirez heads to Chef Ming Chinese Food to Go, right next to Foods Co. in Richmond. “Their orange chicken is just, like, so crispy…super good munchie food,” she said. Egg rolls are also a must.

Little Louie’s: Burger Heaven

Although Little Louie’s is best known for its sandwiches, Joaquin Vargas swears by the eatery for the best burgers in town. The Raider Burger (bacon, mushrooms & cheddar) and the 49er Burger (bacon, guacamole & Jack cheese) are his top picks. “That burger will fill me up for the whole day,” said Vargas, and with hours only till early-to-mid-afternoon depending on the day, it’s a race against time for a proper feast. Tater tots on the side? Absolutely.

Tacos El Tucan: Birria and Adobe Tacos

Will Mitchel is all about Tacos El Tucan, especially the birria tacos and red taco adobada. “I just go down the hill to get some consistently good Mexican food,” said Will, referencing its proximity and convenience to his home. He agreed that it’s the kind of spot you hit when the munchies are real and you want something reliably delicious. Plus, it’s open late with very friendly service.

Golden Gate Bistro & Masa: Tacos and Everything

Makensie Marcigan moved to Richmond in 2019, and since then, she has discovered her favorite eateries: Golden Gate Bistro and Masa. When it comes to Masa in Point Richmond, Marcigan said, “Their birria tacos are really good” and she also like their drinks. As for at Golden Gate Bistro, which she said is “super good,” she loves the large menu, but doesn’t have a particular menu item shout-out.
