The Clubhouse at Point San Pablo Harbor has reinvented itself as “The Knot Club” bar, offering locals Richmond’s newest place to crack open a cold one.

The Clubhouse—which has been a go-to destination for concerts, dinner parties and private events for years—soft launched the bar on July 4, and will be open solely on Fridays from 5-10 p.m.-ish moving forward.

Bar reps in the Point San Pablo Harbor newsletter touted the spacious bar (with beer, wine, cider and non-alcoholic options), eclectic decor, a cozy back deck with a firepit and stunning waterfront views.

‘It’s such a cozy place to come after work and feel like you’re escaping from the week.’

The Knot Club offers a Happy Hour from 5 to 6:30 p.m., and spins vintage records alongside board games. Those wanting some food can order some of the bar’s small bites or find something at the nearby Sailing Goat, a restaurant with numerous dinner options available until 8:30 p.m.

Rob Fyfe, Yaella Frankel and Daryl Henline are the trio that own Point San Pablo Harbor, and in turn, the bar. Frankel said that they had been using the space for private events, and it’s been a slow evolution transforming it into The Knot Club.

She added that the future game plan is to eventually start a membership club that will involve The Knot Club, with members having access on specific days while also staying open to the public for approximately one-to-two days per month for concerts. While the bar is open only on Fridays for now, the trio may open it for “some Sundays” as well, according to Frankel.

“It’s such a cozy place to come after work and feel like you’re escaping from the week,” said Frankel, adding that it’s a place where you can feel like you’ve gotten away.

A “Live on the Waterfront” concert series is providing entertainment options, with shows both within The Knot Club and outdoors in the Concert Meadow. On Saturday, July 19, at 7 p.m., The Knot Club will play home to the music of Glory Dayz, featuring the lead singer of Sha Na Na, Frankie Adel. The band will play classic rock & roll tunes from the 50s through the 2000s. Get tickets here

Richmond’s newest bar also has waterfront views and eclectic surroundings that include a 12 foot-tall honey bee (Bee or Not to Bee by Mr. & Mrs. Ferguson); a 40 foot-long, glowing crocodile (Niloticus by Peter Hazel); and numerous other artistic curiosities that are larger than life. Frankel said that Point San Pablo Harbor’s art “has all been to Burning Man.”

As for the bar itself, think “laid-back evenings, good company and unreal sunsets,” according to bar reps.

The Knot Club is located at 1900 Stenmark Dr. in Richmond. Questions? Learn more on Facebook or contact the bar at (510) 233-3224 or info@pspharbor.com.
