East Brother Beer Co. is brewing up cause to celebrate, with an “8 Year Anniversary Celebration” first up and set for Sunday, Feb. 23 from noon to 8 p.m. at its Richmond taproom.
Also in the works? The Richmond-based craft brewery will be launching a San Francisco taproom midway through 2025 if all goes according to plan.
But first, the Richmond-based anniversary.
“We’re transforming our Richmond taproom into an 8-bit gaming paradise for our anniversary celebration,” according to East Brother in a statement. The taproom’s anniversary fête will be a “throwback to classic gaming culture” complete with tasty beer and food, live music and classic gaming vibes.
Along with serving up some limited-edition anniversary brews for the occasion, East Brother will have the Los Rockeros and Golden Gate Bistro food trucks on hand, as well as live music by Red Eye Gypsy.
Patrons can come to the Anniversary Celebration dressed as their favorite video game character from any era and in any style. The best-dressed guest wins a sneak peek of East Brother’s upcoming San Francisco taproom along with five of your friends.
Which brings us to the new, San Francisco taproom.
“We are currently in construction mode, wheels in the works,” said Jamie Dooley, East Brother’s marketing manager, about the brewery’s latest taproom. The specific location in the city is still under wraps.
And although the craft brewery doesn’t know when things will get approved in San Francisco, one thing is for certain: “Richmond is an incredibly big part of where the brand is. We’re carrying that big Richmond flag wherever we go,” he said, referring to Richmond as the “flagship taproom.”
Dooley’s current best estimate for the opening of the San Francisco taproom—if everything goes well—is mid-2025.
