Downtown Point Richmond will come alive with an eclectic mix of Americana when Point Richmond Music’s (PRM) free summer concert series returns Friday, July 26 with Miracle Mule and Lorin Rowan & Deep Blue Jam.

Along with good tunes, concertgoers can enjoy their choice of cuisine and beverages from food trucks and local restaurants surrounding the event. Proceeds from drinks from PRM’s no-host bar will support the annual music series.

Miracle Mule—a.k.a., “the Bay Area’s favorite swampy tonk dance band—will trot on up to the stage from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Hailing from Marin County, the band will bring energy and fun across the bridge as they play “good-time Americana with some spicy Louisiana seasoning,” according to PRM organizers. The crowd can expect a combo of honky-tonk, Cajun/zydeco, rockabilly and country swing to combine for some good times.

Deep Blue Jam featuring Lorin Rowan will take the stage from 6:45 to 7:45 p.m. Rowan and co-writer Kirk Casey’s original songwriting has produced a mandolin/guitar-based Americana fusion that’s a blend of “Bluezgrass,” roots, rock and funk. Together with Eric McCann on bass and Matt Willis on drums, the band has experience playing with the likes of Jerry Garcia, Bonnie Raitt, Levon Helm, Clarence Clemons and other notable musicians.

Festival-style seating for the free concerts is available, but a limited number of chairs will be provided. Attendees are encouraged to bring their own festival/lawn chairs. Learn more about Point Richmond Music.
