Richmond police are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1600 block of Chanslor Avenue tonight, police said.
Officers responded to a Shotspotter gun detection system activation at about 5:05 p.m. When the arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from at least one gunshot wound, according to police and CBS Bay Area news, which flew a helicopter over the crime scene. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident was under investigation and there was no information on a suspect or what led to shooting, the reports stated.
The victim was the fourth person to be shot in Richmond since Sunday, as our report from Monday states.
