An opportunity is coming to chow down on multiple “Rich Dishes” under one roof. The Taste of Richmond will return Saturday, March 28 from 4-7 p.m. at the Richmond Memorial Auditorium, 403 Civic Center Plaza in Richmond. Tickets are $35 including one raffle ticket; participation is open to those ages 13 or over.

Vernon Whitmore, executive director of the Richmond Chamber of Commerce, said the Taste of Richmond Experience “is about bringing people together around food and shared community pride” and also “to celebrate the flavors and traditions that make up Richmond.” While the Chamber hosts the event, it is being presented by the City of Richmond’s Economic Development Commission, all in partnership with Richmond Main Street Initiative (RSMI) and Richmond’s Farmer’s Markets.

The 6th annual incarnation of the ultimate Richmond foodie event will feature tastings from 40 of the city’s local eateries, caterers, bakeries and more. Also in the house? Local artisans, art exhibits and live music.

RMSI Executive Director Sarah Wally offered a hint of what’s to come. “We’re going to have a lot of fun, a lot of vendors, and this time around it’s not only restaurants. We’re expanding it to include vendors of The Lot. And we’re currently working on getting arts vendors too.” She added that the event is a “tasting experience,” but that the organizers are trying to infuse more, because this year’s idea is about the entire Richmond experience.
