Start the summer on the right foot with an active, health-focused community event for local families.
The community is invited to the Healthy Moves Outdoors Event on Saturday, June 8, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the track and field at Helms Middle School, 2500 Road 20 in San Pablo.
Field athletes, coaches, doctors, teachers and parents have joined forces put together the Healthy Moves Outdoors Event promoting the benefits of physical activity and other healthy behaviors, and encouraging a healthy life balance that isn’t overly heavy on computer screen time indoors.
Families participating in the event can choose to participate in various competitive or noncompetitive activities to earn prizes, while earning double points while participating in relaxation stations.
Activities provided are known to improve heart health, strengthen muscles, increase speed, agility, balance and body confidence.
The design, planning, implementation of this event was a collaborative effort from organizations such as Contra Costa Health Services- Community Wellness and Prevention Program, West Contra Costa Unified School District, Rich City Rides, West County Health Center, Kaiser Permanente, Authentic Fitness , YES to Nature, Fresh Approach, Oakland Strokes, and Resultz fitness!
