An inaugural San Pablo 5K fun run benefiting the West Contra Costa Salesian Boys & Girls Club is set to take place this Saturday.

The untimed “San Pablo Community My School Color Run” will start at 10 a.m. (registration at 9 a.m.) at Contra Costa College (off campus drive between football field & bus depot) at 2600 Mission Bell Drive.

The Color Run is open to all ages and fitness abilities. Participants will pass through vibrant color zones along the route, and single powder color packets will be thrown in the air at the final color celebration at the finish line, according to Girls Inc. of West Contra Costa, which is hosting the event alongside San Pablo families.

“Rather than selling goods, we want to engage the entire community in a fitness initiative that aims to encourage a life-long healthy way of living,” says Tiffany Harris, executive director of Girls Inc. of West Contra Costa.

Online registration, which costs $25, continues until Friday, July 21 at 10 a.m. on location at CCC. Sign up for the run by visiting www.gi5k.eventbrite.com or by completing a paper registration form, available at Girls Inc. or online at www.girlsinc-wcc.org.

Business sponsorship opportunities are also available. For more information, contact Harris at 510-232-5440 or office@girlsinc-wcc.org.
