Local resident Garice Tate is looking for volunteers to make a big impact in the community later this month through the 1st Annual Rich City Clean Up Day.
The event will debut Saturday, July 30, from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Volunteers are asked to gather at Nicholl Park in downtown Richmond, where each will be assigned to a specific Richmond neighborhood to clean up litter. After the effort, volunteers will meet back at Nicholl Park for a brief lunch and discussion about the crucial importance of a healthy environment.
“We would like to provide snacks, water and a light lunch to all of our wonderful volunteers,” Tate said. “This is a kid-friendly event and we encourage parents to bring children. We are asking for water, fruit snacks, sandwich bread, meat, cheese or anything that would be great.”
Tate is also on the lookout for donated garbage bags and plastic gloves; he can be contacted at firstname.lastname@example.org for additional information
On a side note, Tate is an up-and-coming R&B musician, whose burgeoning career was covered in the Richmond Standard last summer.
