Richmond police are asking for the public’s help in identifying a person of interest in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old Josue Cornejo in the 1400 block of Bissell Avenue on Nov. 17.
Police responded to a ShotSpotter gunshot detection activation at 5:55 a.m. and found Cornejo suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts, he was pronounced deceased at the scene.
During the subsequent investigation, homicide detectives located video footage of a person of interest in this case.
“If someone recognizes this person, their clothing, distinctive shoes or believes they may know who the subject is, they are urged to contact Detective Farr at (510) 620-6622,” police said. “Your tip could help us solve this murder!”
