Last week, a joint traffic enforcement operation in Richmond resulted in 53 citations and the towing of two vehicles.
The initiative focused on some of the city’s most congested areas, including Castro Street and the I-580 corridor. One of the towed vehicles was observed driving on the wrong side of the road in a dangerous attempt to bypass traffic, according to police.
Richmond police announced that more such operations are planned in the coming months.
“These efforts are part of a broader strategy to improve safety, reduce collisions and keep roadways flowing for everyone who lives, works or travels through Richmond,” the department said.
