As Richmond High School gets a full makeover, a cherished landmark, affectionately called the “Richmond High Rock,” is being stored and preserved and will be placed in a new, visible spot on campus once construction is completed, according to the school district.

The district announcement came in the wake of community concern about the fate of the beloved Richmond High Rock during the ongoing school modernization project, which enjoyed a groundbreaking last month.

“We’ve heard some questions from our community about the beloved Richmond High Rock, officials said. “To clarify: The Rock is safe and will be placed in its new spot on campus. The historic Rock and the cornerstone were carefully preserved during the relocation.”

The RHS overhaul will rebuild parts of the campus and upgrade others. To follow project updates, click here.
