Seniors’ safety gets the spotlight at the 3rd Annual Senior Safety Summit on Thursday, Sept. 25.

The event will run from 1:30-3:30 p.m. at Richmond Auditorium (403 Civic Center Plaza). Doors open at 1 p.m.

The free community event is designed to help older adults and their supporters stay safe, independent and connected to services.

This year’s program features guest speakers from the CEI Center for Elders’ Independence, Caregiver OneCall, and Adult Protective Services. They will share practical guidance on home-based care, elder protection and caregiver support.

Attendees can also engage with CERT Training/Richmond, the Richmond Police Department, and the Richmond Fire Department on emergency preparedness and public safety.

Community partners and sponsors include Contra Costa Senior Legal Services, AccentCare, and El Cerrito Royale. The event is organized by the Richmond Commission on Aging, in partnership with the City of Richmond’s Community Services Division.

Residents, service providers and local groups are encouraged to help spread the word about this event, especially to seniors and caregivers in Richmond and West County.
