Update: Missing Richmond man’s remains recovered from Bay

UPDATE: The Richmond Police Department has confirmed that the remains of 32-year-old Roman Joel Cox, who was reported missing earlier this month, were recovered from the San Francisco Bay. Authorities stated that there are no signs of foul play at this time.

The Richmond Police Department and also the nonprofit Black & Missing Foundation, Inc. (BAMFI) issued a public appeal this afternoon following the disappearance of 32-year-old Romain Joel Cox.

Cox was last seen leaving his Richmond home Monday, Sept. 1. His vehicle was later located unoccupied in the vicinity of the Richmond-San Rafael Bridge.

He is described as 5’7” with a thin build, short black hair and red-framed glasses. He was last believed to be wearing a gray plaid sweater, gray sweatpants, work boots with reflective tape and an orange beanie.

“If you think you have seen or see Mr. Cox, please contact RPD Dispatch at 510-233-1214,” the RPD states.
