The Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder’s Office, in collaboration with California State Parks, is once again hosting the very popular “Destination Weddings” event at Summit of Mount Diablo on Friday, May 30.

Sixteen couples will exchange vows atop one of the Bay Area’s most iconic natural landmarks and the highest point in Contra Costa County. Ceremonies will begin at 10 a.m. at the mountain summit. All ceremony appointments must be booked over the phone prior to the event. Walk-ins and unscheduled appointments will not be accepted.

“Our office loves providing this unique experience at the Summit of Mount Diablo,” said Kristin B. Connelly, Contra Costa County Clerk-Recorder and Commissioner of Civil Marriages. “It is a very popular event and a favorite of both our customers and our staff and having the opportunity to offer multiple events each year gives us a great sense of pride and joy.”

Couples must obtain a valid marriage license prior to their scheduled ceremony. Licenses can be purchased at the Clerk-Recorder’s Office in Martinez. The fee for a public marriage license is $95, and a confidential license is $100. The civil ceremony fee for Destination Weddings is $120.

For more information about obtaining a marriage license or scheduling a future ceremony, visit www.contracostavote.gov or contact the office at 925-335-7900, Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
