Richmond police investigate shooting near Target

Human trafficking sting rescues 20 survivors in Contra Costa County

Richmond police are investigating a shooting that occurred in the parking lot near the Target store on Sunday, May 4.

Officers responded to a ShotSpotter gun detection activation in the parking lot of the shopping center at 4500 Macdonald Ave. around 6:35 p.m., police said. They determined that a shooting occurred close to the DaVita Dialysis Center, which is closed Sundays.

One vehicle was struck by gunfire but there were no reports of injuries. The incident remains under investigation.
