Red Oak Victory will host its first big event of 2025 with its “Spring Swing” on April 26.

Live 1930s-40s big band music from Alpha Rhythm Kings, preceded by a dance lesson from Suzie Hardt of the Hidden City Ballroom in Point Richmond, will color this event, which will run from 6-10 p.m. aboard the WWII-era ship.

Beer, wine, and cocktails will be served in the Tiki Bar Lounge, while hotdogs and other snacks will be available for purchase from the ship’s galley. And if you get tired of dancing, take a tour of our historic, World War II ship.

Swing dancers are encouraged to come in vintage clothing. But you don’t need the clothing or to know how to dance to participate. You can also just come for the music, a couple drinks, some snacks and a tour.

A $25 Advance Ticket ($10 for kids 12 and under) includes admission to the ship and dancing to Alpha Rhythm Kings’ music. A self-guided tour of the ship is also included in the price. The Advance Ticket is only available through Saturday, April 19. After that, online tickets will be $30 for adults and $15 for children 12 and under. These will also be the door prices if the event doesn’t sell out.

This and all SS Red Oak Victory events are fundraisers. Proceeds from ticket sales go directly into the restoration of the ship. The Red Oak Victory is operated by a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation (EIN 94-6095083) and your ticket purchase should be tax-deductible.
