The City of San Pablo is launching the San Pablo Scholarship Pilot Program for 2025, aimed at offering $1,000 in financial support to residents ages 24 and under wanting to pursue post-high school education and career technical training.
The scholarship empowers San Pablo youth with the resources they need to succeed in higher education and vocational training. This year marks the pilot program’s third year of collaboration between the City and the San Pablo Economic Development Corporation. The application deadline is Tuesday, April 15, 2025.
The Scholarship Pilot Program supports students who are residents within the San Pablo city borders. Its overriding aim is to ease the financial burden of education and career training, while also providing financial empowerment classes, paid credit union membership, food security resources and coaching/networking opportunities.
Via the application, students can share their future goals, provide the Selection Committee with information as to how the funds will support their post-secondary plans and provide proof of age and residency in incorporated San Pablo.
Leslay Choy, executive director of the San Pablo EDC, said that they have a collaborative team to support youth pursuing their career ambitions and breaking through barriers to opportunity. “We’ll help you do it with financial savvy so that you start a career with no-to-low debt and keep more of your earnings working for you.”
