2025 Richmond Promise Scholarship application period opens

The 2025 Richmond Promise Scholarship application period is now open for Richmond residents.

Students can apply for a scholarship of up to $1,500 per year that is renewable for up to 4-6 years, depending on a student’s path and petition. The scholarship can be used at any 2-year, 4-year, or Career Technical Education (CTE) post-secondary institution in the United States.

The Richmond Promise also provides students with guidance in applying for other financial aid and also in the college experience. Scholarship recipients are known as Richmond Promise Scholars.

The program launched in 2016 with a $35 million, 10-year investment by Chevron Richmond. The funds are part of a $90 million community benefits agreement between the City of Richmond and Chevron related to the $1 billion Refinery Modernization Project. Since 2016, over 3,700 students have benefited from the program.
