An alert police officer responding to an unrelated call Tuesday ended up seizing an AR-15 style pistol and suspected narcotics from a person he passed and recognized, police said.
The officer recognized the person as having an outstanding warrant, which led to an investigation that included a probation search of their vehicle, which was parked nearby, according to police.
A loaded, unregistered AR-15 style pistol was found in the vehicle along with the suspected narcotics, police said.
