“The Spirit of West Marin” and its pastoral and coastal beauty will be abundant in Richmond when the Point Richmond Gallery hosts its Opening Reception Saturday, Oct. 26 from 2-5 p.m. for a show featuring artists from The Cafe Photo Collective.

Consisting of work by award-winning photographers Steve Napoli, Don Melandry, Marsha Kirschbaum and Bill Johnston, the group’s show takes viewers “on a journey of relaxation and sanctuary that winds its way through the communities of Nicasio, Point Reyes Station and to the Point Reyes National Seashore with photographic destinations between,” according to the Point Richmond Gallery.

The collective should know the photographic landscape; they’ve been meeting every week for more than five years, sharing their love for photography, field trips, tips and more.

Each photographer draws inspiration from West Marin’s wildlife, ocean shorelines, lakes, creeks, vibrant spring greens and summer golds, according to the gallery.

Along the way, the gallery said the show’s collective images serve to not only capture the spirit of West Marin communities, but also people’s hearts and minds.
