Groundwork Richmond is teaming up with the Richmond Urban Forestry Advisory Committee, The Watershed Project and other like-minded groups to plant trees on Arbor Day, Saturday, Oct. 19 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m., meeting at Southside Community Park in Richmond.
The organizations welcome volunteers of all ages to join the urban greening efforts, in partnership with the City of Richmond,” according to organizers. They added that it’s a chance to make a positive impact in our city and create lasting memories.
Volunteers are asked to bring reusable water bottles, gloves, sunscreen, layers and closed toe shoes for optimum planting. Volunteers will be treated to morning refreshments and lunch.
