RecycleMore is hosting a household hazardous waste (HHW) and mattress drop-off event in Richmond on Saturday, Sept. 21.
HHW such as old batteries or leftover paint, along with mattresses you no longer need, can be dropped off from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Galileo Club at 371 S 23rd St., Richmond.
This is a free event open to residents of West Contra Costa County that includes El Cerrito, Richmond, San Pablo, Pinole, Hercules, and surrounding unincorporated communities of Bayview, East Richmond Heights, El Sobrante, Montalvin Manor, North Richmond, Rollingwood, and Tara Hills. Be sure to bring proof of residency.
“This is a great event for residents in the RecycleMore jurisdiction and offers a free and safe way for the community to properly dispose of unwanted HHW items,” says RecycleMore Executive Director Peter Holtzclaw.
Access the RecycleMore website to learn more about this event and what items are considered household hazardous waste at the events page www.recyclemore.com/092124.
For residents that are not able to attend this event, RecycleMore has a permanent facility that accepts HHW items and mattresses all year around. Take your items to the West Contra Costa County Household Hazardous Waste Facility from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Wednesday through Saturday at 101 Pittsburg Ave., Richmond.
