RichmondBUILD is set to graduate Cohort 54 at the job training center’s headquarters on July 26.

The ceremony will run from 10 a.m. to noon at 360 S. 27th St. in Richmond. The public is invited to attend.

Since its inception in 2007, RichmondBUILd has pioneered workforce development, providing free, comprehensive training that transforms the lives of Richmond residents by building pathways to high-demand careers, according to Tamara Walker, deputy director of Community Services Employment & Training Department.

The program boasts a job placement rate of over 80 percent, with many graduates securing employment with leading companies in construction, solar, and other green technology sectors.

Nearly 40 graduates are set to complete the intensive 12-week program, gaining hands-on experience and certifications in areas of carpentry, electrical work, solar installation, and energy efficiency.

“Their dedication to their education and their resolve to create better futures for themselves and their families are truly inspiring,” she said. “We eagerly anticipate the positive influence they will have in the workforce and within their communities.”

The graduation ceremony on July 26 will feature keynote speeches from industry leaders, former and current students, and special guest Martha Guzman of the Environmental Protection Agency.

Graduates will receive certificates in front of family, friends, and community members.

“RichmondBUILD invites the community to join in recognizing the success of these individuals who are poised to make significant contributions to the local economy and the sustainable development of our region,” Walker said.
