While Mother Nature rained on Saturday’s parade, she welcomed Sunday’s festival will a bright smile.
The annual Cinco de Mayo festivities were supposed to open with the 16th Annual Cinco de Mayo Richmond/San Pablo Peace & Unity Parade on Saturday, but a full morning of rain led organizers to postpone the event till later this year.
The weekend was far from ruined, however, once the sun returned in all its glory on Sunday. Tens of thousands of residents and visitors were drawn to the annual Cinco de Mayo Festival on 23rd Street.
The festival ran from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. along 23rd Street between the intersections of Rheem Avenue and Clinton Avenue and boasted two entertainment stage, a bevy of fun activities, community organizations, vendors and sizzling, delicious food.
