CHP investigates shooting on I-80 in Richmond

The California Highway Patrol is asking for the public’s help in identifying those responsible for a shooting on Interstate Highway 80 in Richmond on Tuesday, March 19.

At about 8:48 p.m. that night, the victim drove himself to a local hospital after being shot on I-80 westbound near McBryde Avenue, according to the CHP. The victim, who was expected to survive, advised officers where the shooting took place, leading to the closure of all lanes of the highway for about one hour to allow for an investigation.

CHP detectives are trying to determine a motive and identify suspects and vehicles related to the shooting.
