2025 Richmond Promise Scholarship application period opens

High school seniors from Richmond and North Richmond can begin the process of making their college dreams a reality with the launch of the 2024 Richmond Promise Scholarship.

Eligible students can apply now for the community-wide scholarship of $1,500 per year that is renewable for up to 4-6 years (depending on a student’s path and petition). The scholarship can be used at any two-year, four-year, or Career Technical Education (CTE) post-secondary institution in the U.S., according to Richmond Promise.

Richmond Promise launched in 2016 due to a $35 million, 10-year investment by Chevron Richmond. The funds are part of a $90 million community benefits agreement between the City of Richmond and Chevron connected to the $1 billion Refinery Modernization Project. 

Since the 2016 launch, over 3,300 scholars have been served by the program.
